Summary: Obama states that we will remain helping Haiti through this hard time. He said that, "The challenge now is to prevent a second disaster." President Rene Preval of Haiti thanked America for our wonderful support after this massive earthquake. President Obama provided reassuring words to Haiti saying that we made a pledge to them and that we will always be here to help. Members of the search and rescue team for Haiti visited Mr. Obama in the Rose Garden. There he talked to them and thanked them for all their helpful work.
How is this related to class?: Well in class we are talking about some of Americas bad times but this article proves that recently America has stepped up and is still a great country.

1) Yes, I do. This is a nation in extreme poverty and Obama seems to be very set on helping them in every way possible, which is very kind.
2) Yes, I do think we're doing all we can to help. America currently doesn't exactly have all the money it needs to support Haiti. In fact, the debt we are in has made it rather hard to even support ourselves.
3) Not completely. We seem to be coming together a little bit, though I have not heard much about the other nations' efforts.

1) Yes, I think he'll keep his promise since he's the president of the United States.
2) Well, America can always do more to help but we're doing an adequate job in restoring Haiti. We battle a tough economy yet we always have room to help others.
3) I don't think any countries aside from the U.S are really helping Haiti in its efforts. If there any nations besides the U.S, then it hasn't made the headlines. So the earthquake won't bring our world together.

1. I think that he will. Obama is passionate about reaching out to other countries that need our help, and right now is a very important time.
2. I think that we are. Many doctors have gone over to help the people and rescuers have gone too trying to find missing relatives. Also, many kids across the nation are doing little fundraisers here and there and all of the money will end up paying off.
3. I think that it will. Many many countries are trying to do things to help, so lots of countries are working together to help Haiti.

1) I do think that Obama will keep his promise and continue to help Haiti. As the president of a country that isnt doing so well itself, he should know that it can be stressful to not have help in a crisis.
2)I believe that we are doing the most, if not 98 percent, of what we can to help. Even with our economy the way it is, we are still giving aid to the disaster-striken people of Haiti.
3) I think that this one and the numerous other earthquakes that are happening will help to unite the world. With many nations helping, we will be able to look past the differences and realize that if a disaster struck any other country that is giving aid to Haiti, we would help them, too.
